  Sentence Equivalence questions consist of a single sentence, one blank, and six answer choices. These questions require the examinee to select two of the answer choices. The examinee receives no credit for partially correct answers.

  本句其实是在考查考生对于单词同义关系的把握能力,首先由“although(尽管)”引出让步状语从句,所以我们应该可以推断出后边的主句在感情基调上应该是与从句意思相反。从这个角度来讲,后边的正确选项应该为“pioneering”的反义词,如A选项orthodox或E选项conventional。但是在主句中又有一个表示否定的词“hardly(几乎不能)”,hardly与从句中的although其实构成了“双重否定”,双重否定可以理解为肯定,所以该主句中的形容词应该与从句的形容词一致才符合正常逻辑。所以本题的正确答案应该是C和F。

  “despite”作为一个介词,后引出让步状语表示转折,即“despite”后的内容应该与前边内容意思相反。“despite”后所叙述的是该公司付出了长期和巨大的努力,因此按照正常逻辑应该是会有一个较大的增长和较快的发展,而转折后就应该是不那么大和显著,因此正确答案应该是D和E。

  实际上,在此种题型中,有部分题是根据GRE考试中的填空题改写而成的,无非是多加了一个同义选项,而这一点与现行的GRE类反题就存在较大差异,在样卷中,对同义词的考查不仅体现在填空题、句子平衡题中,在阅读题目中也有体现,因此应该引起考生足够的重视。
