新南威尔士大学预科课程(UNSWFoundationyear)是进入本科学习的最佳途径，使学生有时间适应在澳大利亚的学习、社交及文化生活。
1989年，新南威尔士大学预科开始开设预科课程，是澳大利亚开设预科课程时间最长的学院之一。其课程旨在使学生顺利进入大学本科阶段的学习。申请该预科的国际学生，可同时得到新南威尔士大学本科课程的预录取。
该校提供400多个不同学科的学位课程，现在学校总人数为40000，其中有来自13个国家的9000个国际学生。该预科目前已有12,000多名毕业生，大多数学生继续攻读学位课程，并保持优异成绩。
