南缅因大学
University of Southern Maine
南缅因大学成立于1878年，是一所多校区的综合性公立大学，属于缅因大学系统的一部分。南缅因大学有三处主校区分别位于波特兰、高汉姆和路易斯顿。该大学由两所独立的大学（高汉姆师范学校和缅因大学波特兰校区）组成，后来又增设了路易斯顿校区。南缅因大学下设教育与人类发展学院、护理与卫生专业学院、公共服务学院、应用科学、工程学与科技学院、商学院与路易斯顿・奥本学院。波特兰校区开设的主要专业领域涉及商业、护理、历史学、生物学、数学、英语、现代语言与古典语言及荣誉专业。
截止到2005年秋，在缅因大学系统的七所院校中，南方缅因大学的招生人数居各校之首。根据《普林斯顿观察》2007年排名，南缅因大学是“最优秀的东北部院校”之一，同时被列入2007版的《美国最具价值的学院》中。
