I. 相对较大的地点

在这一类地点题中考到了foreign city/ country, 并且还出现了a place near the water, 所以专家建议各位考生可以准备一个靠近海的外国城市，这样就能成功应对两个考察相对较大地点的考题了，像悉尼，墨尔本，洛杉矶，马尔代夫……都是很好的选择。该考题的原题如下：

这道题目其实是一道常规考题，只是对城市的考察加了特定的限定词，国外的城市，这道题目的难点在于很多考生可能没有去过，所以心里没有底，于是在考试中会觉得无话可说，各位考生可以多搜集一些资料，准备好相关背景知识，自然能够轻松应对。对城市的描写可以从地理位置，特点以及你对该城市的感受着手，组织好语言，自然高分不难。并且考生们可以增加对海景的描述，从而当考到a place near the water时也可以顺利的进行转化。
而river/lake这一题目，各位考生可以选择有特色的江、河或者是湖泊，比如说西湖，除了可以描述它秀美的风光，还可以把白蛇传的故事插入进去，就更加引人入胜。

在稍小一点的地点中，park/garden是让广大考生头疼的一道考题，原题如下：

这道题目的难点在于要描述一个公园，除了简单带出公园中的风景和娱乐设施，还要描述公园中的一些特色，建议考生在介绍普通的公园之外，还可以准备一些主题公园，比如说Disneyland, 首先各位考生可以从地理位置上进行简单的介绍，可以选择全球任意一处Disneyland进行描述，无论是否去过，背景资料的搜集工作一定要做足，比如说它的来历：

在建筑物的话题中，考生们往往只能根据题目作出简单的回答，之后便无话可说。这一方面是因为许多考生与建筑相关的知识和词汇积累非常有限，没有可以表达的内容;更重要的一方面则是许多学生受到表达能力的限制，无法迅速的进行paraphrasing, 因此回答起来张口结舌，极大地影响了个人的考试表现。hotel/restaurant这个经典考题从08年至今一直活跃在雅思口语的考场中，原题如下：
Describe a hotel/restaurant
You should say:
Where the hotel/restaurant is
What the hotel/restaurant is famous for
What you can enjoy at the hotel/restaurant
and explain why you often go to this hotel/restaurant
在对此类建筑话题进行描述时，往往要求考生描述以下方面：建筑所在地点(where), 参观此建筑的时间(when)/多久去一次(how long), 参与的人(who), 以及为什么喜欢/不喜欢这个建筑(why)。这种类型的问题对大多数考生来说都比较简单，只需把重点放在喜欢或者不喜欢的原因即可，学生很容易找到相关思路并且做出清晰流畅的回答。而对于特定的建筑物而言，专家提醒同学们要注意，需要重点描述的是为什么在这么多的图书馆、餐馆、博物馆、宾馆、建筑物中，你不选择其他作为描述对象，而偏偏选择这个，也就是说这个地点或描述对象本身具有较多的特征或特别之处，才值得一提，所以，在选择对象的时候，要注意一些其自身的特色，以及可以提一下在此建筑物中的经历。
IV. 景点类
Describe a historic site
Describe a nature beauty
在景点类考题中，考生们在备考中要准备一个人文景观(historic site)和一个自然景观(nature beauty)，自然景观可以参照城市类的考题进行准备，而A Historic Site这个考题考生们可能不太熟悉，题目如下：
Describe an interesting historic site
You should say:
where it was
what you saw at this site (or, what it looked like)
what role it played in history
and explain what interested you about that place
这道题的难点在于对于历史建筑的描述，在强调它的历史作用时多少会涉及到历史知识以及一些专有名词的表达。而不管各位考生是选择中国的还是国外的历史建筑，鉴于平日里谈论得极少，考试前没有足够的准备就很难开口。所以各位考生在考前可以结合其它描述地点或建筑的话题一起准备：Describe a museum/an old building/your favorite building/an important traditional building等，例如北京故宫里的建筑，即是古老而传统的建筑，又是很重要的博物馆，也可以是自己最喜欢的建筑。不过故宫和颐和园之类的话题考官已经听过太多了，所以考生们可以参照类似的例文，跟考官描述一个当地的著名历史建筑，例如长沙的岳麓书院，杭州的雷锋塔，南京的明孝陵之类的，提前做好充足的功课，搜集相关的背景知识，遇到其它问题也都可以迎刃而解。

Well, you know, China is a country with a long history, and I have visited some of those historical places. Here I would like to talk about one of them-the “Summer Palace”. To be frank, it is too hard for me to describe this famous historical place in only one or two minutes. I will just give you a brief introduction of Summer Palace.
It was built in 1764, located in west of Beijing, far from the city center. It was known as the biggest Royal Garden. There are a large quantity of trees and flowers. The long corridors, pavilions together with the lake make a marvelous landscape. It has been destroyed for several times. After 1949, our government rebuilt it and protected it well. Now it is a famous historical place in the world heritage list. I think it is worthy to take visit there.
